Happy Turkey Day!
Hi, Everyone!
Linda and I would like to wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving! We hope your table is filled with bounty in food, friendship and reflection on all for which you’re grateful. We know we will be counting each of you among our greatest blessings!
In recognition of Thanksgiving, here’s my favorite little poem about food, offered here to help you justify the holiday’s grand indulgence!
Methuselah ate what he found on his plate,
and never, as people do now,
Did he note the amount or the calorie count —
he ate it because it was chow.
He wasn’t disturbed as at dinner he sat,
devouring a roast or a pie
To think it was lacking in granular fat,
or a couple of vitamins shy.
He cheerfully chewed each species of food,
unmindful of troubles or fear
Lest his health might be hurt by some fancy dessert —
and he lived over 900 years!
Gooble! Gobble!
